Interpreter Of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri
This is a collection of short stories. Almost all set among bengalis who have migrated to the uk or us.
Whenever i read these stories, i feel how these indians living in the west neither remain indians nor ever become americans or britishers. This book captures the feeling of neither being indians and nor being americans very well, even though the author might not have wanted to capture that.
But anyway, good literature is good literature, no matter where it's set. I liked all stories, of course some were brilliant and some just good. This is a great book, and synthesizes a great deal of emotions and feelings of people in a few pages (200). Go for it if you are looking for a short read which is great and exquisite.
