The Harry Potter Series
" Since the release of the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, on 26 June 1997, the books have found immense popularity, positive reviews, and commercial success worldwide. They have attracted a wide adult audience as well as younger readers and are often considered cornerstones of modern young adult literature. As of February 2018, the books have sold more than 500 million copies worldwide, making them the best-selling book series in history, and have been translated into eighty languages. The last four books consecutively set records as the fastest-selling books in history, with the final instalment selling roughly eleven million copies in the United States within twenty-four hours of its release. I read this book series in 7th grade, and I spent much of my time in reading it only. Though I had seen the movies prior to reading the books, I still read it with complete concentration and interest. Over the years this book has earnt ridiculous level of fame,(of course because of the movies), and I think that it might even be worth it. The way J.K. Rowling creates a whole new world is commendable, and it establishes her as a great author. This series has 4 spin-offs, and J.K. Rowling actually owns the brand called Harry Potter and the wizarding world and makes millions out of it. Her fame and success could be put down to this single series, whose offshoots have made her even more popular. I won't write the storyline here, because everyone has heard it somewhere. But I would tell you this much, it's about a boy called Harry Potter and his fight with the wizard called Voldemort, who had killed Harry's parents. Harry who is a "muggle" , living in the world of Britain is made aware of a whole new world called the wizarding world by a fat gullible guy called Hagrid. If you like this much, then go for it, but if it sounds a bit of childish to you, don't worry, the last two books (half blood prince and deathly hallows) are pretty much for gown ups only.
